Wedding Planning: You're Not Alone!

Are you in the midst of planning all the intricate wedding details that have been brewing in your head since you were just a kid? Do you feel a bit overwhelmed with all the decisions that you need to make and see through? You’re not alone! Wedding planning is no easy task, however there are a few tools that we want to share with you to help you along the process.

The Knot

The Knot is the popular all-in-one online wedding planning site. Create your website, keep track of your guest list and plan your registry. It’s all here. The Knot is easy to use and allows you to decide on your “wedding vision” before you get to the nitty gritty details of your big day.

This start-up offers a lot of perks and is sure to catch the attention of couples with an eye for design. You can choose from around 100 wedding website designs, all of which are free to use. Zola also offers a wedding checklist and guest list, all free. So what’s the catch? They make money through the wedding gift registry. When your guests purchase gifts for you off your Zola registry, the site makes money.

Joy is another free wedding website service. Personalize your site with hundreds of adorable themes and templates. Joy even offers paperless save-the-dates and wedding invitations that match your specific site, so you can keep everything truly “on brand”.

Wedding Wire

Nothing beats a solid recommendation from a friend or family member, but sometimes you just want to do the research yourself. Wedding Wire allows you to search for everything from bands to venues to officiants in your area. Their listing is a great place to start when you’re feeling overwhelmed by all the options. They feature reviews and even allow you to contact local vendors and venues through their site.

Free wedding planning app that acts as a wedding project management tool. For the bride and groom who have a little too much on their plate (isn’t that all of us?) and need help keeping track of payments and deadlines, this app will keep you organized and on top of the planning process. It creates a timeline of tasks for you and reminds you when tasks are due, just like a project management app like Asana would, and it’s all right on your phone.

Riley & Grey

This one’s for the couple looking to craft the most unique experience for their guests. Riley & Grey offers “luxury wedding websites” for $35 a month. Their designs are customizable and refreshingly modern and are as user-friendly as possible. They offer plenty of examples for inspiration, or you can decide to set off on your own and create the wedding website that truly echoes your personality.

The Venue Report

Although a quick search didn’t turn up much for Syracuse, NY, for those who are a little more flexible on location or planning a destination wedding, this is a great resource. You can search their listings based on city and use filters like guest count, budget, amenities and even desired setting. What we like most about this site is its ease of use.
